 Dear Friends of the FCHS Marching Flashes,

The FCHS Band program is beginning another great year!  We are honored to have the “most sought after” and successful FC students right here in the Marching Flashes.  Every year we strengthen the quality of our programs at all school levels.  And, last year, we got our semi-trailer!  Many of you worked hard on this project and it has finally come to be.  It is pictured on our attached flyer.  We also focused on:

1. Increasing our fundraising by hosting band and guard contests.  We held four profitable contests last year, and will do so again this year.

2. Encouraging our students to grow even further in their musical ability, leadership, and performance skills.

3. Retaining the finest staff of directors and coaches to work with our students.

This year, as budgeting issues for the band and other valuable student programs continue, we will look toward:

1. Strengthening relationships with the intermediate and middle school band students and parents.

2. Building new community sponsorships, and

3. Developing a Friend of the Marching Flashes network. 

As a Friend of the Marching Flashes, we would like you to have a calendar of our events and contacts if you are interested in participating in any of our fundraising activities or with our home contests, or if you would like to make a donation to our program.   All financial gifts are tax deductible and may be made payable to the FC Band Boosters.  Watch for updates in your mail on our programs and our successes in the upcoming year.

AUSTIN COCHRAN WON THE INDIANA PERCUSSION ASSOCIATION INDIVIDUALS COMPETITION IN THE MULTI-TENOR CAPTION AT THE 2007 IPA CLINIC DAY.  AUSTIN PERFORMED "OPIE'S CHANGES" BY BILL BACHMAN.

AUSTIN GRADUATED FROM FRANKLIN CENTRAL HIGH SCHOOL IN 2008 AND IS NOW INSTRUCTING LOCAL DRUM LINES
